We are a small Day Care Centre located in the village hall at Swanmore and can accommodate up to 12 Service Users, who come within the elderly frail criteria. Referral is through Adult Services Department (Winchester). The staff consists of a Manager, Assistant Managers, Support workers, minibus Driver and several volunteer helpers.
A day at the Centre consists of the Service User being picked up from home and brought to the Centre. On arrival, the User is welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee. This is followed by a short armchair exercise session and card, or board, games, crafts, reminiscence, entertainment, or an outing. Lunch is served at 12 noon, consisting of a hot main meal and pudding, with a choice of menu, and dietary requirements are also catered for.
In the afternoon, after refreshments, there is a raffle and further activity, such as an entertainer, slide show or an outing.
