Location: Horrill Day Care Centre

Hours: Monday – Thursday 0915 – 1400 and Friday 0915 – 1500

Salary:£8.21

We are looking to recruit an experienced cook to work within the busy environment of Horrill Day Care Centre, based in Dibden. To provide a variety of cuisines and meals whilst catering for the dietary requirements of those who attend the Day Care Centre.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The preparation, cooking and serving of meals, snacks and refreshments with due regard to the current food hygiene regulations.
To formulate and agree with the Wellbeing Centre Manager a balanced and varied menu on a monthly basis which meets any specific dietary needs of Service Users and contractual obligations.
The ordering of food and the subsequent checking and security of the items received, ensuring most cost effective resources are utilised to support quality of meals provided at the Wellbeing Centre.
Overall responsibility for day to day stock control and working within an agreed budget.
Supervision of volunteer helpers within the kitchen, ensuring that Health and Safety at Work regulations are complied with.
Responsibility for ensuring the correct use and care of kitchen equipment in line with Health and Safety at Work codes of practice.
Cleaning of cutlery etc. on a daily basis and other kitchen equipment on a regular basis.


SUPERVISION OF THE KITCHEN

Supervision of volunteer helpers within the kitchen, ensuring that Health and Safety at Work regulations are complied with.
Responsibility for ensuring the correct use and care of kitchen equipment in line with Health and Safety at Work codes of practice.
Cleaning of cutlery etc. on a daily basis and other kitchen equipment on a regular basis.
