Job Title: Recruitment Specialist

Location: Age Concern Hampshire, Lockswood Day Care Centre, Locks Heath, SO31 6DX

Hours: 26 hours (flexible hours)

Contract: Fixed Term, initially 3 months

Salary: £19,057 (FTE £28,000)

Main purpose and scope of the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced recruiter to make a real difference to our Charity. This is an initial 3-month fixed-term contract with the main focus of reviewing and improving our current recruitment processes to ensure the HR Department can provide an effective, proactive and professional recruitment service in the future. You will also take ownership of the whole internal recruitment process and the candidate journey for the vacancies that arise whilst you are in post which will give you first-hand experience to understand how the recruitment process can be improved. You will also be involved in Volunteer and Trustee recruitment and be able to support the development of an Apprenticeship Program for the charity. The hours of work are flexible, more important is that the project is delivered on time and to agreed budget.

Duties and key responsibilities:

Managing the Recruitment Process

  • Advertise all vacancies internally and externally using the most appropriate method to source the best candidates
  • Collate applications and short list candidates for interview
  • Prepare interview questions and packs for the interview
  • Arrange interviews and ensure candidates are prepared for the interview and bring necessary documentation with them to interview
  • Respond to all applicants in a timely manner

.Improving the Recruitment Process

  • To review and improve the whole recruitment process from start to finish
  • Redesign job descriptions and person specifications for each role
  • Research the best methods of advertising vacancies to attract the best candidates
  • Create advertising templates for various roles
  • Use social media to promote our employer brand and create a positive impression of Age Concern Hampshire
  • Review the interview process to ensure that the selection of candidates is done fairly and consistently
  • Create interview questions templates
  • Evaluate other possible methods of assessment
  • Create contacts with recruitment agencies and other resources to ensure the widest pool of talented candidates are open to us.
  • Set-up Recruitment process for volunteers and Trustees

About you

You will be an experienced recruiter, with a genuine passion for delivering great results and the ability to communicate with confidence and clarity.

You will have a broad recruitment background, ideally as an in-house recruiter for the care sector or another people based organisation where recruitment can be a challenge. Previous experience of recruiting volunteers would also be an advantage. You should have experience of promoting a brand to become an employer of choice, using various internal and external resources for candidate attraction . You will be highly organised and tenacious and have proven experience of working to deadlines, project management and working on your own initiative without direct supervision. You will also be creative and innovative in order to develop a highly effective time focussed recruitment strategy to support the future sustainability of the Charity.
