We are eager to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Support Worker to support the clients who attend our Bordon Day Care Centre. We are dementia specialists, and we also support those who are physically frail. The Bordon Day Care Centre is at the heart of the local community.

The hours of work are Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 0850 hours to 1625 hours (21.75 hours per week)

Main purpose and scope of the role:

Working with the Centre Manager and Assistant Manager, you will be providing care and stimulation to older people attending the Centre with reduced mobility or dementia. You will also provide assistance on and off transport.

Duties and key responsibilities:

Provide a person centred and holistic approach when working with Service Users and their Carers

Building positive relationships with Service Users

Attending to the personal needs of Service Users (including those in wheelchairs), particularly those who require assistance with personal care and have reduced mobility.

Enabling Service Users to mobilise within the Day Care Centre accessing all facilities

Serving of meals and beverages and assisting Service Users with their meals

Assist in the delivery of the activity programme and person centred activities when directed, including running small groups and individual activities

Assist passengers to get to and from the Day Care Centre by helping them on and off the minibus

To undertake training and development in order to improve effectiveness

To be part of a team and co-operate with and support other team members

Effective participation and constructive input in staff meetings

A flexible approach to working hours

To contribute to a clear focus on driving improvements in quality, impact and performance

To commit to the Mission, Vision and Values, and be an ambassador for Age Concern Hampshire in all activities

To comply with the policies and procedures of Age Concern HampshireTo undertake any other duties that may reasonably be considered within the scope of the post and are conducive and contribute to an effective caring service.
