Support Worker/Relief Driver
We are eager to recruit a caring, compassionate and reliable individual with a D1 Driving Licence to join our friendly team to make a real difference to the lives of older people.
Hours of work - 15 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday from 10am to 3.00pm, as Support Worker. This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave.
There will also be a requirement to provide absence cover for our Minibus Driver on an ad hoc basis. Hours for this role, when required, will be Tuesday to Thursday from 9.00am to 10.30am, 4.5 hours per week.
Your main duties as Support Worker will include: Providing support and personal care for those with physical frailty and/or dementia during the day, including meal times Assisting in the delivery of the activity programme and person centred activities Building positive relationships with Service Users and their carers/families To be part of a team and work with and support other team members
Relief Driver Main Responsibilities: Driving Service Users from their homes to the Day Care Centre in the morning and return them safely in the afternoon Assisting Service Users to enter and vacate the minibus, ensuring their safety and physical needs are fully met. To be responsible for ensuring the minibus is roadworthy by carrying out some basic checks
To be successful in this role you will have: Previous experience of caring for older people Excellent communication skills An understanding of the importance of being reliable, hardworking and honest A D1 licence and experience of driving a minibus and assisting passengers
