Day care provides the opportunity for over 50s to stay connected to their local communities and expand their interests and social networks. It plays a vital role in supporting people throughout their ageing journey, enabling them to remain independent and active for as long as possible.

Age Concern Hampshire's Day Care Centres provide a range of stimulating and enjoyable activities, freshly cooked meals and personalised care to over 1000 people weekly across the county.

We specialise in supporting people who require extra day-to-day care due to their physical or mental health needs. Whilst many of our referrals are made through Adult Services, we are also able to offer private day care places to individuals who refer themselves direct.

Age Concern Hampshire believes that everyone has the right to a fulfilled life, and are extremely proud of our highly-trained and positive Day Care teams who deliver high levels of care and support. Many of our staff have been with us for over ten years.

Our activities are diverse, including gardening, computer training sessions, gentle exercise and craft. Regular social outings and events range from pub and sea side trips to demonstrations and visits from speakers. Those attending day care are also able to access a range of Day Care services including hairdressing and beauty treatments.

Our team offer personalised and appropriate support relevant to the needs of the individual, including support at meal times, bathing and personal care. Our staff are trained to a high level in providing person-centred dementia care and support.

Transport to and from our Day Care Centres is an integral part of the day care provision and can be arranged through the manager.

Day care also provides carers with vital well-earned respite, and many of our Day Care Centres hold regular carer support groups and activities, also offering access to our accredited information and advice services.

Our Counselling Service offers professional, non-judgemental and caring support. Sessions are available in a number of our Day Centres, including Rosefield in Odiham, Kershaw in Fareham and Malmesbury Lawn in Havant. For more information, please click here.

We are regularly told by our clients that coming to their Day Care Centre is the highlight of their week, and we are always delighted to arrange taster days for anyone interested in seeing what we do for themselves.
