Foot Care

One in three older people cannot reach their toes according to national research - making it virtually impossible to care for their feet. Uncut toenails can make it uncomfortable to walk and having healthy feet also improves balance which helps prevent falls and injuries. Age Concern Hampshire’s toenail cutting service helps over-50s to stay active, safe and remain mobile.

Across Hampshire, we engage the services of professional and qualified chiropodists/podiatrists to offer low-cost toenail cutting and to provide a basic foot health check. Appointments are charged at £15 and £10 one-off charge for your foot care kit.

Clinics are available in some of our Wellbeing Centres, and are also held in doctors’ surgeries and community centres. Initial consultations include a foot care kit of a file and clippers which can be kept at home, with costs kept as low as possible to ensure the service is available to all.

To book yourself an appointment, call our Foot Care Administrator on 01489 572819 where your needs will be assessed and you will be booked in to your nearest clinic; diabetics welcome.
