Finance Manager

Board of Trustees

“I’m an experienced business leader who has worked across the private, public and charity sectors, with a particular passion for helping organisations through periods of change and challenge.

Age Concern Hampshire has been a very important part of my life, first as a Trustee, then as Chief Executive and now as Chair of the Charity.  I’m proud to have helped the charity move from a loss-making position towards a sustainable future.

What matters most to me is knowing that, every day, the charity is making a genuine difference to the lives of older people across Hampshire when they may need support, connection and kindness the most.”

Helen Callen, Chair of the Board of Trustees

“I am actively involved in my family business, Hampshire Workspace in Winchester, where I support the development of local enterprises and remote workers through flexible office solutions. My professional background spans marketing and sales, and I hold a BSc in Business and Management.

Alongside my business experience, I’m a qualified wine educator through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, and I’m currently studying for a master’s degree in Chiropractic with McTimoney, driven by a long‑standing interest in health, wellbeing, and community care.

I’m passionate about contributing to organisations that strengthen local communities, and I’m committed to bringing both my professional experience and lived experience to my role as trustee.”

Lettie Farndon, Trustee

“I’m a retired international aviation technology executive with over 40 years’ experience in operating and transforming critical national infrastructure across the globe.

My most recent role was as a member of the Executive Management team at National Air Traffic Control (NATS), responsible for day-to-day system operation, sustainment and engineering, as well as the ground-breaking transformation and modernisation of the core flight management infrastructure.

I also sat on the board of the international Technology Services Industry Association setting out new standards and best practice across the world.”

Rob Watkins, Trustee

“Prior to retirement I was a Commercial Director in the NHS for over 20 years developing sources of income to help support innovative and ground breaking services for the benefit of patients. I’ve worked at a local, regional and national level in the NHS, the private sector and with universities and colleges. My degree is in Hotel Management and I’m a member of the Hotel and Catering Institute. I have had a number of other roles including responsibility for all non clinical services at a major London Teaching hospital and was Regional Director for Education and Healthcare services for the largest Facilities Management company in the UK.

I’ve been a Trustee of Age Concern Hampshire since 2022 and was previously Deputy Chair of an inner city Business Improvement District, Chair of a Community Interest Company and I also currently volunteer with Coastwatch.”
