Volunteer Development and Engagement Coordinator
Description

Role Purpose

Age Concern Hampshire is looking for a compassionate, organised and proactive Volunteer Development & Engagement Coordinator to support the recruitment, coordination and ongoing development of volunteers across the charity.

Working closely with service leads, you will help strengthen volunteer involvement across a range of services and projects, including supporting activity linked to our Living Well in Later Life programme. You will play a key role in helping volunteers feel valued, supported and connected to the wider organisation, whilst ensuring safe, effective and consistent volunteer processes.

Responsibilities

The Volunteer Coordinator role will help lead and manage volunteers within our Information Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supporting our vibrant volunteer program across the county.

The Volunteer Co-Ordinator will oversee and co-ordinate the Volunteers within the aims, policies, and principles of Age Concern Hampshire (ACH), including the supervision and recruitment of volunteers. As well as supporting with the management of data on our CRM and ensure the safe working practices of all volunteers.

Personal Qualities needed to be a successful Volunteer Co-ordinator:

  • Highly motivated to ensure a high-quality efficient and safe service;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to the needs of the listener;
  • Honest, trustworthy, reliable and respectful;
  • An excellent team player.

Skills and Experience we are looking for in our Volunteer Co-ordinator:

  • Educated to at least level 2, e.g. GCSE grade C
  • Ability to empathise with older people, with an interest in their welfare
  • Experience of supervising volunteers/staff
  • Experience of giving information and/or advice either face-to-face or by telephone
  • Willingness to learn and keep up-to-date on benefits and services available to people over 50
  • IT literate with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience of using databases.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Data Protection principles and Safeguarding regulations
Experience
  • This role is ideal for someone with experience of working with volunteers, strong organisational skills and a passion for supporting older people and local communities. In return, in return you will receive a competitive salary of £12.92 per hour.
