Age Concern Hampshire announce changes to their Kingsclere Social Group to include a complimentary light lunch. Designed to offer older adults in the community access to engaging activities and companionship, the introduction of a light lunch allows clients to enjoy a tasty bite, whilst benefitting from activities to support wellbeing. 

Maintaining proper nutrition is crucial for the overall wellbeing of older individuals, especially when faced with hurdles due to reduced mobility. Recognising the need for simplicity, the new initiative ensures older members of the community have access to an affordable lunch in a warm and friendly space.  

Brogan Rehill – Fundraising Manager at Age Concern Hampshire said “We’re so delighted to now be offering a light lunch at our Kingsclere social group. Our focus is on creating an environment that not only provides engaging activities but also provides companionship and a sense of belonging. The addition of a light lunch is a significant step towards creating a more vibrant and inclusive environment for older adults in Kingsclere”.  

The weekly volunteer led group offers a warm and inviting space for older people to make connections, exchange experiences, and build valuable friendships. Run by committed volunteers, the initiative supports the Kingsclere community by addressing social isolation challenges and promoting active community participation. 

 Situated at Rose Hodson Court in Kingsclere, the weekly social group will now take place every Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm (previously 10-12 noon). Prioritising affordability, the sessions are priced at £3.00 per person, which includes a light lunch and engaging activities. For additional details, contact Age Concern Hampshire at 01962 868545.
