Age Concern Hampshire is reaching out to individuals, encouraging them to consider donating their Winter Fuel Payment to support older people during the winter season. With the colder, darker months persisting, the rise in loneliness and isolation among elderly people is a growing concern. Contributions can make a significant difference in ensuring individuals receive the care and support they need during the winter months and beyond.
For those aged 66 or older, the Winter Fuel Payment serves as an annual, tax-free grant aimed at easing the financial strain of heating expenses during the colder months. This yearly, tax-free allowance ranges from £250 to £600 and is provided to all individuals over 66 to assist with heating costs throughout the colder season, regardless of their financial status.
Contributions stemming from Winter Fuel Payments will assist Age Concern Hampshire in providing vital support to older individuals confronting loneliness and vulnerability. These contributions will enable the charity to sustain its essential services and expand assistance to vulnerable communities.
Helen Callen – CEO at Age Concern Hampshire said “During the winter months many older people can find themselves increasingly isolated within the confines of their homes. Your donation of Winter Fuel Payments has the power to create a significant impact, allowing us to sustain our essential services and activities which are dedicated to easing loneliness and promoting wellbeing.”
